What a weekend and what a "storm" it was!

That weekend, we were supposed to be seeing our dear friends, the Greers, who now live in Jackson, MS. We had been planning to see them for a couple of months, and then here comes the snow storm of snow storms (well, as far as the South is concerned), and we weren't able to see them.

Alli Lane was actually in Atlanta when the storm came through, so she had to stay an extra couple of days, because we couldn't get her from Dede. Boots, Brad, and I made the most of our time "trapped" in the house, though, and we had fun. We lost power for about 15 hours or so ~ not exactly "fun" but it wasn't too bad, either. Not for that relatively short period of time. I was lucky enough to even have Brad boil water over the fire to make my coffee. Literally. Do I have a sweet hubby or what? Maybe I shouldn't give him too much credit ~ he probably just didn't want to be trapped without power and a wife who was desperately needing her coffee fix!! :) Ha!

Both girls had an absolute blast playing in the snow! And I promise ~ I am not a terrible mommy, but they wouldn't always keep their gloves on their hands! :) We ran, played, threw snowballs, made snow angels, and had such fun! Brad and I both said it makes us miss the ski trips we both used to take with our families.

And I think there is nothing like the quiet stillness of snow-covered ground. It is truly peaceful.
